Comedy Central is an American cable and satellite television channel launches as The Comedy Channel in 1989.
The network is notable for being the birthplace of many shows that wre consided too risky or niche for mainstream TV at the time. In 1997 the channel premiered Trey Parker and Matt Stone's 'South Park'. The Daily Show and The Colbert Report were also first screened on Comedy Central.
